Writing an expository essay is a tough task for many students.....even SAYING the word expository is a challenge for some of them!  This poster teaches an easy to remember step by step process in writing an expository essay using the actual letters of the word in order!  As soon as your kids see on the prompt page that they will be writing an expository, they can simply write out the word like this:  ex-  posit- ory on one of the planning pages and begin to write out what each letter stands for in the poster.  This also works if you are teaching persuasive writing, because in both cases you are either explaining Points or giving Proof (reasons) why you believe  something,  the P in expository.  Give this poster a try and be amazed with how the light will suddenly come on in your students' minds as they attempt to write expository essays!
